The sacred art of storytelling has an ancient lineage.

Nisaba, the Sumerian goddess of grain and writing, became Keeper of Sacred Accounts and Scribe of the Gods. A seed planted five millennia ago in ancient Mesopotamia continues to flourish wherever human beings commit their stories, wisdom, and ideas to the written word. Village of Care Press stands in that lineage.

Students in ancient Mesopotamia concluded their tablets with a doxology thanking the goddess for inspiration and success and so must we.
